i love living so close to an IKEA.
everyday i drive by this place on interstate 405 that sells nothing but cement bird baths, lawn ornaments and gigantic planters. i always find myself thinking, "i cant remember the last time i saw a house that had any of these things.....how do they stay in business???"
i saw this stock box on a top shelf in an asian market today. im not sure how i feel about eating a product that comes from a box that has a creepy baby on the outside, next to a language i cant read.
its suspect.
HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY!
this is the shirt i wore today to fend off the pinches. its one of my favorite tees....as evidenced by the hole wearing between the T and H. that makes me sad. :(
a peek down through the neck of my water bottle.
went to see "shutter island" tonight to see if it lived up to all the hype. i figured it out about 30min into the movie, so it was about 1hr and 45min too long. the "twist" was painfully obvious. sigh.
snapped this in the theater....and the shutter clicked right as the shot changed which i thought was a cool image.
i was out and about today and spotted these bolts on the joint of a bridge. i HAD to double-back so i could get a shot of them.

one of my friends/coworkers absolutely hates the words "moist" and "slick."
so at the end of my shift tonight i made two collages, one for each of the computer monitors on her desk.
somehow, i dont think she will appreciate the time and effort i put into them! ;)
he pays the bills. and i really like working for him.
the new season of Survivor started tonight!
dont judge me. :)
got this pop art eye off of madonna's newest release, "Celebration."
great album, by the way.
got this mannequin torso a couple years ago at a retro/vintage furniture shop. his name is "jack" according to the handwriting where the arm attaches to the body. he sits on a shelf above my desk. i thought it was a good shot to begin with, then i thought it was great once i turned it negative. has a much better mood to it that way.
why are cheap, greasy pizza and beer essential for a move? i dont know.....but god bless the person that started the tradition!
while i was packing up my bedroom to move, i found this pocket "wee garden gnome" that i got as a gift and snapped a quick macro of it.
the old fashioned movie marquee around the corner from my house.
a billboard at the intersection near my office. i think the layers of all the different ads showing through give it a really cool look. too bad they will fix it soon, im sure.
this is a super-macro shot of the pattern on a dixie paper plate that my office uses.
maybe not the most inspiring of subjects, but i thought it made a nice composition.
there is an old shopping mall near my house where men gather everyday to play chess for hours. they hold small matches at tables nearby while they wait for their turn to show what they've got on the "big board."i sit and watch for a while every so often. its relaxing.
it was a rainy day all day....my favorite :)taken in my car just before going in to work. added the sepia tone in-camera.
