POP EYE - 031/365

got this pop art eye off of madonna's newest release, "Celebration."
great album, by the way.

JACK - 030/365

got this mannequin torso a couple years ago at a retro/vintage furniture shop. his name is "jack" according to the handwriting where the arm attaches to the body. he sits on a shelf above my desk. i thought it was a good shot to begin with, then i thought it was great once i turned it negative. has a much better mood to it that way.

SANCTUARY - 029/365

my new bedroom is almost completely settled.
ps.....i firmly believe that making a bed is both a science AND an art!

NESTING - 028/365

starting to set up my new bedroom and decorating is a must to help me keep my sanity within the chaos of moving. this is a floating shelf with one of my paintings and some great antique, industrial sewing bobbins ive acquired.

MOVING ESSENTIALS - 027/365

why are cheap, greasy pizza and beer essential for a move? i dont know.....but god bless the person that started the tradition!

MIDNIGHT SUN - 026/365

had some more thick fog start to roll in tonight. this really bright street light near my house looked like a sun in the fog.

WEE GNOME - 025/365

while i was packing up my bedroom to move, i found this pocket "wee garden gnome" that i got as a gift and snapped a quick macro of it.

REASON #147 - 024/365

Reason #147 - Why I love the Pacific Northwest:
foggy, cloudy, drizzly, gray days.

MOSS I - 022/365

spotted this cool patch of moss on a tree in a parking lot today. there is green everywhere in the pacific northwest.....i love it!

CLOUDS II - 021/365

found some more great clouds today. i got a lot of good shots, so it was hard to pick just the one. it was just a gorgeous day today....sunny and 62 degrees. SO rare, but welcome, for a day in january. i thought this one looked like a modern painting once i cropped it.

CLOUDS - 020/365

saw these really great clouds hanging over mt. ranier today. i thought they looked more interesting and dramatic in negative.

MARQUEE - 019/365

the old fashioned movie marquee around the corner from my house.

BILLBOARD - 018/365

a billboard at the intersection near my office. i think the layers of all the different ads showing through give it a really cool look. too bad they will fix it soon, im sure.

BIG THREE-OH - 017/365

today was my 30th birthday. the 20's were a decade-long rollercoaster.
im looking forward to this new chapter....and here's hoping for some really good years!

BRIDGE TO NOWHERE - 016/365

it was really foggy this morning. shot this on my drive to work around 945am while i was crossing lake washington on 520W. its my favorite way to cross the lake because its beautiful.....though its not the most traffic friendly, so i can only do it on the weekend.

PAPER FLOWER - 015/365

this is a super-macro shot of the pattern on a dixie paper plate that my office uses.
maybe not the most inspiring of subjects, but i thought it made a nice composition.

NEW DRILL - 014/365

when i moved out of my parents house at 19, my father gave me a drill that he owned for years.
it was older that i was.
it died today....almost 11 years later. it served me well.
the timing was bad, however, so i had to get a new one right away. thank god sears has such great sales.
here's hoping this one will be as trusty as my last.

DOGS - 013/365

2 of my boys, davinci (top) and botticelli (bottom) - italian greyhounds.
it was impossible to get them together AND be still long enough for a picture.

CHESS - 012/365

there is an old shopping mall near my house where men gather everyday to play chess for hours. they hold small matches at tables nearby while they wait for their turn to show what they've got on the "big board."
i sit and watch for a while every so often. its relaxing.

RAINY WINDSHIELD - 011/365

it was a rainy day all day....my favorite :)
taken in my car just before going in to work. added the sepia tone in-camera.

REASON #618 - 010/365

Reason #618 - Why I love the Pacific Northwest:
Mt. Ranier
had to be at work a few hours earlier today. my reward.....catching this sunrise over mt. ranier.
a rare sight for a washington winter.
totally worth it.

AIRPORT BUS - 009/365

tonight i walked from my office to the airport and back. as i was leaving, i took this bad time-lapse shot of a city bus leaving the aiport.

ALLERGIES - 008/365

allergies.....they suck. BAD.
(super-macro close up, then toyed with the colors in an editor)

BEDTIME - 007/365

flipping the pillow over to get the cold side and falling asleep to Forensic Files.

YUM! - 006/365

after a long day of house hunting....my favorite meal at my favorite local place.
house hunting SUCKS!

TCHOTCHKE - 005/365

some creepy little, ceramic lamb tchotchke with rhinestone eyes that i came across in an antique/junk shop today.
some people are scared of clowns.....THIS is the stuff that gives me the willies.

EVERGREENS - 004/365

evergreen trees in the lot behind my house with a misty rain falling.

PATTERN - 003/365

i found this pattern while i was looking up at work. its the casing for the office lights.

TUNNEL AT 70MPH - 002/365

I-90 tunnel west of Lake Washington

DRIVE - 001/365

Heading down I-5 South through downtown Seattle on my way to work around 1145am. it was a rainy morning, so it was nice to see the sun for a moment.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! - 000/365

I spent my first moments of 2010 watching the fireworks on the Space Needle with a beer in hand....
.......from my couch.
that's right...this is pic taken from my TV.
how rad is my life?? huh?!?!
